Restaurants - V&A Museum Restaurant

Following their award-winning collaboration on the Royal Academy of Arts restaurant, DHA Designs worked alongside MUMA architects to design a lighting scheme for the newly refurbished restaurant and cafe at the V&A Museum in London.  The restaurant extended the existing space in the beautiful ceramic tiled rooms into the Garden Rooms to double the size of the space.

A new barrisol ceiling runs through the length of the Garden Rooms, illuminated by back-lit geometric shapes that break up the ceiling, together with small, recessed downlights that create pools of light onto the white dining tables.  Decorative lighting and re-furbished chandeliers dominated the wonderful Morris, Gamble and Poynter Rooms, which were originally the first museum restaurant in the world.
